WEEK 4. TRANSLATOR ROLE #soyer1718
Hi everyone! I'm María José,
playing the translator role this week.
According to the activities we
have done this week, we must highlight the five basic concepts that I consider
most important in this activity:
-Creative Common License:
This is a license which allows, taking into account the traditional vision of
reserving author rights, both individuals, and large companies, in a basic and
identical way everywhere, it allows to promote a series of frames legal for
such creative works. Thus, other people may be able to see these works and may
be shared, so it is a way to allow the flow of knowledge from different points
of the planet, always within a legal framework. It is a way to transmit
knowledge and culture, as long as copyright is kept.
-Creative Common License,
Elements: Within the Creative Common, we find different types of
licenses, which vary depending on the conditions that make them, so we
highlight 4 different types of conditions:
We have the condition of attribution,
where you can copy, distribute, exhibit and also modify the work, as long as
you name the author of the specific work from which it comes.
We also find the principle
of Non-Commercial, in which you can copy, distribute, exhibit and
represent the work but for non-commercial purposes.
Then there is the principle
of No Derivate Works, where derivative works aren’t allowed, but
you have the permission to copy, exhibit or distribute the work, and finally,
we have the principle of Share Alike, where it is allowed to distribute
derivative works under identical terms to those of the original work.
All the different combinations
will result in many types of licenses.
-Tips to make a good
presentation: Within these tips, we find some of which are due to a
good preparation, as we would have to prepare in advance what we are going to
say, and how we want to convey it. We must also take into account the purpose
of our presentation and what the audience is going to expect from us. Later, we
have the presentation, where we have to take into account factors as well, such
as what information we are going to ignore and how we are going to transmit it,
being able to use methods such as schemes, etc. Regarding the presentation,
determining how much time we are using and what we will use, taking into
account also that if we tell something in a way that seems a story can be
better understood by the audience. Finally, we have to highlight different
general tips such as talking loudly, being sure of yourself at the time of
exposing, preparing in advance what we are going to say and for whom it is
addressed, etc.
- Importance
of social networks in today's education: The
Internet has changed our lives so much that we cannot look the other way, and
social networks have come to stay.
For this reason, it is important
that in educational centers know about new technologies and used so that
students can benefit from them for their studies and personal development.
Social networks are the perfect
tools for communication flow between students and teachers. Young people, being
so familiar with them, will feel more comfortable and less forced to have a
closer relationship with their teachers and also, everything will flow more
naturally.
But not only serve for the
teacher-student relationship in the same center, but they are basic to
communicate with experts in specific subjects or students from other centers. They
make it possible for students to develop skills and abilities such as
socialization, teamwork or the importance of sharing.
-Main risks of the use of
social networks: Among the main risks are some that are quite
common as registering with false data. We can never really know who
is on the other side watching or publishing content and we will not know their
real age, sex, real interests ...
Another danger would be cyberbullying,
something very common among mainly adolescent children, since it is a way of
hiding under a false user in order to damage the image or hurt the feelings of
the other person, in a more indirect way.
Another risk would be data
traffic, and therefore we must be sure of the information we provide and be
sure of what we use it for.
Finally, another risk would
be the saturation of information, since the Internet, and social
networks also contain a large amount of information, which is difficult to
assimilate and process, so a critical education about the use of networks will
help us position and improve our behavior in the face of new technologies, and
in this case, social networks.
Finally, these are the main
concepts that my group and I have worked on this week, and that in my opinion,
will be very useful as future teachers, since they are very important.
